And the angel said unto them, “Fear not! For, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.” – Luke 2:10

Bring the meaning of Christmas into your heart and share Christmas Mass with Bishop Richard J. Malone and the award winning angelic voice and bell choirs from Mount Mercy Academy and St. Joseph Collegiate High Schools.

Mass will be pre-recorded in the Mount Mercy Chapel, a 1912 traditional Gothic convent chapel replicating Mother Catherine McAuley’s House of Mercy on Baggot Street in Dublin, Ireland. In the mid-1800s Mother McAuley provided shelter and education for economically poor women and girls who were in dangerous and often abusive situations.

The Mount Mercy Chapel in South Buffalo serves as a place of worship for the Sisters of Mercy and the young women of Mount Mercy Academy.

Join the students and Bishop Richard J. Malone in the joyous celebration of the birth of Jesus through prayer, meditation and song.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”

In addition to shepherding the Buffalo Diocese, Bishop Malone is an Executive Committee member of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), Chairman of USCCB’s Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family and Youth, Member of the Advisory Board for Catholic Scripture Study International and Advisory Forum for the Center for Catechetical Initiatives, University of Notre Dame, Board of Directors and Board of Directors for Catholic Relief Services (CRS).

The recording of Christmas Mass 2014 was produced by the award- winning Daybreak TV Productions of the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo, NY.
